Landmarks
You are walking in a foreign city, and you are holding a map. The map reassures you, and so you keep walking, because you have to get somewhere, but little by little you realize that you are getting lost and nothing corresponds with what you are seeing on the map. So you fold the map up and put it in your pocket and decide to go by instinct, following land marks, reading the street names, watching the angle of the sun, but you notice that nothing is aligning with where you think things should be, at this time of day, in the place where you should be, with this angle of the sun…but you continue, regardless, into the uncharted, the unknown… hoping.
mapping the impossible.
I want things to take off, I want them to fly. I want to rearrange space.
Some things exist in real space, other things exist in the mind. Paintings live between two worlds.
